College Emergency Notifications: Star Alert & Alertus

General Information:


What is Star Alert?
  • The Star Alert notification system is used to send emails, text messages, and phone calls for campus-related emergencies, including weather-related delays, cancellations, or closures. Enrolled Students and Employees are registered automatically in the Star Alert system using the contact information provided to the College.
What is Alertus?
  • The Alertus Emergency Mass Notification system is the on-campus system used for immediate notifications of eminent campus threats. These may include active shooter incidents, bomb threats, or other on-campus emergencies.

Additional Information:

Star Alert:

  • Students are registered 30 days prior to the start of their enrolled semester.
  • Students and Employees may update their notification preferences via the ARCC-ATC Portal once they have been registered.
  • Students & Employees accessing the Portal for the first time will need to complete the "Sign Me Up!" option to validate the registration.

  • Parents, Family, or Friends may also register for notifications via the ARCC-ATC Guest Portal.

  • Alertus is a free mobile application that can be downloaded on Android or iOS devices
  • Setup Information:
    • Enter the Organization code: atcarcc
    • Enter your college email address
    • Select subscriptions
      • ATC Campus
      • ARCC - Cambridge Campus
      • ARCC - Coon Rapids Campus
    • Confirm subscription​​​​​
